COMPANIES The Mid-Columbia Ballet (MCB) is made up of four companies:
Senior, Intermediate, Junior, and Petite.
Having a four-Company structure provides the MCB with a pipeline of dance
talent who arrive at the Senior Company level well-trained and knowing what is
expected of a performer. All of the
MCB dancers perform in two annual productions, the Nutcracker and our Spring
story ballet. A tiered Company
structure allows the MCB to provide the best possible dance experience for our
audience members. They see quality
in our dance and professionalism in our productions. SENIOR COMPANY
Photo by REALIFE PHOTOGRAPHY The Senior Company is the primary
performing group of the Mid-Columbia Ballet.
These dancers are at the highest pre-professional level and dance the
leading roles in our productions. All
Senior Company members meet the minimum age requirement for membership in Regional
Dance America (RDA), and they attend RDA’s annual Festival.
Each year, Mid-Columbia Ballet dancers receive scholarships for summer
study at prestigious programs throughout the The Intermediate
Company supplements the Mid-Columbia Ballet corps de ballet.
While these dancers do not perform at the annual RDA Festival, they often
attend and take classes. Intermediate
Company dancers also provide leadership for the Junior Company and sometimes
perform lead roles in Junior Company Educational
Outreach performances. JUNIOR COMPANY
PETITE COMPANY The Petite Company is the Mid-Columbia Ballet’s youngest group of dancers. This is the first performing experience for most of these dancers. Petite Company members learn the fundamentals of performing, including backstage etiquette and personal responsibility for being ready to perform when their cue is called. These dancers also provide Educational Outreach in area preschools. |
