INCLUDE (Inspiring, with No Challenges or Limitations, the Universality of Dance Experiences)

INCLUDE is a dance workshop for children ages 6-18 with special needs such as autism spectrum disorder and related disorders. Over the arc of seven sessions, INCLUDE focuses on bringing children with special needs joy through participating in a dance class designed specifically for them. Participants demonstrate increased physical awareness, improved sensory processing and integration and new tools for verbal and nonverbal communication. All classes are held at the Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet, 21 Aaron Drive (Richland, WA 99352).

2018-19 Season INCLUDE Sessions

Fall: October 6-November 17 $42

Winter: January 19-March 2 $42

Spring: April 13-May 25 $56*


All classes are for children 6-18. Classes will be held from 9-9:45am each Saturday of the session at the Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet.

The Spring session includes a t-shirt and optional participation in the Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet recital on June 1, 2019.

Enrollment for the Fall Session is Open



Dancers may have bare feet in class and should wear comfortable attire that they can move easily in (leggings, sweat pants, close fitting t-shirts, etc). Dance shoes (ballet and jazz) or tights/leotards/skirts are not required, but are acceptable attire.


Elise Kapsi

Angela Streetman

Elise Kapsi is a junior at Kamiakin High School. As the President of Spanish Club and a member of Key Club she has become very invloved in the community. She has been a part of Mid-Columbia Ballet for seven years and has danced at Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet since she was five. Currently, she is a teacher at Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet, and in the future she plans on pursuing a career in a field of Law.

INCLUDE Class Story 5-7 year olds

Angela Streetman is our Teaching Artist for children ages 8-11. She has over five years of teaching experience with many different ages groups of children. While dancing with Mid-Columbia ballet for ten years she has traveled to study dance in over seven states. During her training she’s received three scholarships to study at summer intensives. Angela has assisted and taught at our 2017 Winter and Spring INCLUDE workshops as well as our INCLUDE residency at Badger Mountain Elementary. She currently works as an Artistic Assistant for Mid-Columbia Ballet.
